Washington Post journalist Gene Weingarten has apologized for a piece he composed last week, in which he incorrectly portrayed Indian cooking as “in view of on one flavor”. “The segment was regarding what a crying puerile oblivious d***head I am. I ought to have named a solitary Indian dish, not the entire cuisine…I do perceive how that expansive brush was annoying,” he tweeted.
From start to finish plus the illo, the column was about what a whining infantile ignorant d—head I am. I should have named a single Indian dish, not the whole cuisine, & I do see how that broad-brush was insulting. Apologies.(Also, yes, curries are spice blends, not spices.)
