Throng of tourists at Nainital.

Has the world gone mad? The second wave of corona is yet to be over, the third wave is looming at the doorstep, but there’s something unprecedented on the streets of tourist destinations.

Tourist destination, Cancun, Mexico.

We have seen the throng on the streets of Manali, Himachal Pradesh, and at the Mallital road of Nainital, Uttarakhand. There was noises accross the web criticising the irresponsible attitude of the Indian travellers. But was that really something Indian?

Not really. Just look at the data from the tourism industry across the globe; for example, Mexico. Mexico received 198.5% more international tourists in May, 2021, than in May, 2020. This data is from National Institute of Statistics and Geography.

Mexico is already facing a third wave of COVID-19 infections that is roaring through Mexico’s most important tourist destinations, including Cancun, Baja, and Puerto Vallarta.

On June 1, 2021 Mexico opened up the business activities after a prolonged lockdown due to Covid19 pandemic.
