The explorers were en route to Alandi, a sanctuary town found roughly 25 kms from Pune city, when the episode occurred around 6 am in Maval tehsil, they said. “A gathering of warkaris was coming by walking from Raigad locale. At the point when they arrived at Sate Phata on old Mumbai-Pune interstate, a small truck hit them, in which around 15 of them endured wounds,” said monitor Vilas Bhosale of Wadgaon Maval police headquarters. “The harmed were moved to various emergency clinics, where two of them passed on during treatment,” he said. The police have confined the driver of the vehicle and a test is on, Bhosale added. Warkaris take yearly ‘wari’ (journey) to Pandharpur town in Solapur locale in the state, well known for its Lord Vitthal sanctuary. The yearly journey, which by and large starts in June, finishes upon the arrival of Ashadhi Ekadashi, which normally falls in the period of July.
