Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has ordered that idol immersions will not be allowed in river Yamuna and in public places such as water bodies, ponds and ghats during Durga Puja. Violators shall be liable to pay ₹50,000 per default, DPCC added. The idol immersion ritual may be performed within the home premises in a bucket or container, DPCC added.
