A woman from Mumbai lost ₹6.25 lakh to a cyber fraudster posing as an Indian Navy captain on a matrimonial website. The accused allegedly convinced her to send the amount, under pretext of “processing fees” to receive expensive gifts from him. The woman claimed she sent all her savings and also mortgaged her mother and sister’s jewellery to pay him.
