Olympian badminton player PV Sindhu was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, by President Ram Nath Kovind, at the Padma Awards ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. Earlier this year, Sindhu became the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals. She defeated China’s He Bingjiao in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics.
