No less than two individuals were killed while five others are dreaded covered under the flotsam and jetsam because of an avalanche in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh region on Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Monday.
Taking to Twitter, Dhami said that the specialists have been coordinated to assist the salvage mission.

Pithoragarh region has been getting unending precipitation for the last 4-5 days, prompting a few occurrences of avalanches. A 23-year-elderly person disappeared last week in Joshi town of Dharchula sub-division of Pithoragarh on Thursday.
On Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department gave a yellow alarm in the Nainital, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh regions of Uttarakhand for August 29-30, guaging substantial precipitation around there.
