India lookes a very ordinary team, says Shoaib Akhtar

India’s looked a “very ordinary” team and were panicking all the time during their eight-wicket defeat to New Zealand on Sunday, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said.

The defeat was India’s second of the tournament after the 10-wicket hiding they suffered against Pakistan in their tournament opener and put them on the brink of being ruled out of contention for the semi-finals.

“Everyone had pressed the panic button. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma coming at different numbers, a new kid is batting at the top. They lost the toss and were just panicking,” he further said.

Shoaib said he struggled to understand why players like Rohit Sharma and captain Virat Kohli changed their batting positions and a young Ishan Kishan was sent in ahead of them at the top of the order.
