Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar has said nobody in Rabindranath Tagore’s family, including his mom, supported him in their arms when he was a child since he was “darker looking”. He added, “Yet that equivalent individual became world-renowned.” He offered the remarks during a visit to Visva-Bharati University, which was established by the Nobel laureate.
