It can be assault even without skin-to-skin contact if sexual intent is present: SC

Supreme Court has observed that the provision defining sexual assault against children under POCSO Act must be looked at from victim’s perspective and if the “sexual intent” is present then the offence is made out even without “skin-to-skin contact”. The court was hearing appeals against Bombay HC verdict that held skin-to-skin contact is necessary to constitute sexual assault under POCSO.
