It’s bicycling; it’s Tour de France. And being in the second week, it’s in stage 15 already. Zeus of the bicycling world, Mark Cavendish is warming up on the trainer just before the start. Sunday, today, is the big day.

Céret to Andorra la Vielle is around 191 km. The peloton starts from Céret. And within the first few kilometres starts the ascent. This first 18 km of ascent could be the most important kilometres of the entire Tour de France for Mark Cavendish.

This stage contains the highest motorable paved road of TDF in the Pyrenees mountain. At 2408 metres, the gradient is 5.9%. The first rider to the top wins the Souvenir Henri Desgrange, a €5,000 cash prize awarded annually to the first rider to crest the Tour’s highest summit.

Would we see Cavendish with a podium finish ?
