Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has informed the Rajya Sabha that the government will introduce a new bill on cryptocurrency once Cabinet clears it. “Last time there was a bill proposed…that’s been reworked…[into one] that’s far more recent,” Sitharaman said. Earlier, Lok Sabha’s list said the bill seeks to prohibit private cryptocurrencies with some exceptions to promote underlying tech.
