Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal started free food scheme for homeless

Government alongside Akshay Patra will circulate free cooked meals at its shelter homes.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday dispatched a food dissemination program for the homeless living in government cover homes across the city.

The drive was dispatched at a sanctuary in Sarai Kale Khan, where Kejriwal said that the Delhi government runs 209 night covers across the city and free prepared suppers will be given to almost 6,000 individuals here. This number will go up to 12,000 as more individuals live in cover homes during winters.

Under the program, the Delhi government alongside Akshaya Patra Foundation will circulate free prepared suppers to the destitute at all of its asylum homes across the city.

“The most unfortunate of the poor live in these havens homes. They are not the vote bank of any gathering so no administration focused on them. This is the primary work of any dependable government to focus towards poor people. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is a dependable government and we have worked a great deal for poor people. I’m glad to begin this drive,” Kejriwal said.
