Family boycotted for not including panchayat in separate, Pune Police records case

An argument was enlisted against 14 individuals by Pimpri Chinchwad police on Wednesday for social blacklist of a family for not including the jaat panchayat in a legitimate separation matter.

The objection in the matter was held up by an individual from the “gondhali” local area. The complainant separated from his significant other in 2018 because of private matters between them.

Be that as it may, the couple did exclude the jaat panchayat, which works like an extra-legal local area court, all the while.

The complainant has stopped a plaint saying his family has been socially pariah for not talking with the panchayat.

Among those booked for the situation are four are the tops of the panchayat and are close relatives of one another, the others go about as panch in the framework.

The law that happened in 2016 in Maharashtra makes it illicit to hold and issue local area declarations to blacklist anybody from the local area.

Different cases have been enlisted in the past against jaat panchayats of different networks.

Sometimes, the panch request cash to tackle familial issues.

A case under Section 120(b) (criminal intrigue) of Indian Penal Code alongside Sections 5 and 6 of the Maharashtra Protection of People from Social Boycott (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2016 was enlisted at Wakad police headquarters.
