It’s Okay To Seek Help!

Mental Health has always been of sheer importance be it during a global pandemic or not.
The pandemic has been a catalyst in increasing the number of people suffering from various mental health problems. A well balanced state of mind along with an emotional stability has been hard during this pandemic. Short term lockdowns, quarantine ans social distancing has had long term effects on people such as anxiety disorders, depression, insomnia and post traumatic stress. A few stressors during lockdown were fear of infection, helplessness, boredom, scarce supplies, financial condition etc.

During such hard times, people normally experience anxiety disorders. Anxiety is a normal emotion. It’s your brain’s way of reacting to stress and alerting you of potential danger ahead.
Everyone feels anxious now and then. For example, you may worry when faced with a problem at work, before taking a test, or before making an important decision.

Occasional anxiety is OK. But anxiety disorders are different. They’re a group of mental illnesses that cause constant and overwhelming anxiety and fear. The excessive anxiety can make you avoid work, school, family get-togethers, and other social situations that might trigger or worsen your symptoms.
With treatment, many people with anxiety disorders can manage their feelings.

The stigma around seeking mental help needs to be removed since that would later act as a catalyst leading to disorders.Seeking help for mental health does not definitely provide as a proof for failure in life.

Mental health struggles are part of being human. Thoughts, emotions and actions aren’t permanent. Reaching out to a friend or mental health professional isn’t a sign of weakness but strength that indicates that you want to action to feel better.
